One Subject, One Roll - Shotover Park (or More Trees)
« on: January 02, 2015, 10:05:32 PM »
I needed to run a film through a camera that I'd given a major organ transplant to so thought I'd kill two birds with one stone and do the one roll, one subject thing.

Contax 139 with Zeiss 28-70. Kentmere 400 in FD10.

Very well done!
Looks like the transplant went very well!

They're lovely, Peter. I really like the second and fifth shots but they'd all hang together well on an exhibition wall.

Looks fantastic. Love the 3D look of the Zeiss lens in some of those images.

Nicely done! I can't pick a favorite, but then I love good tree pics. Thanks for sharing.

Hey Peter,
Captivating stuff. I see good exposure control and reproduction. Nice texture and composition.

I seldom shoot trees, nor nature, with the 35mm format as I'm nearly always disappointed with the result. It's as if there is no grandeur in the image, but in large format the endless detail seems to make it all work.

I like the way you present your work with the white border. Are you toning your images? Having them warm like this adds a touch of something that I like about Albumen prints - it kind of makes them more historical, and/or craftsmen like.

Ben.

Hi Ben,

Yes they are toned (digitally). I prefer it to a neutral grey.

Yes, I'll have to go back. It's close(ish) to me but it's years since I was last there. Just happened I was in the area with a loaded camera that needed testing.
