Title: Happy Christmas
Post by: charles binns on December 24, 2015, 09:34:13 AM
It is Christmas Eve and as the Binns clan are gathering in Broxbourne tomorrow, I am spending today in the kitchen. No photography is likely today unfortunately but I'll try to take a few snaps over the weekend.

But Merry Christmas to one and all. I hope you all have a good one.  And here's a wintry photo I took a couple of years ago.

Charles, was that taken from the side of the track while you and the rest of the Abellio Greater Anglia passengers were waiting for them and Network Rail to get the train working and un-freeze the points? Wouldn't be surprised.  Anyway, best of the festive season to you and yours.  Looking forward to a pint with you next week.  Hopefully, the East India might be a bit less packed than usual.

Best wishes to one and all.

Merry Christmas to y'all.
I wish you all have a good night, that the visiting in-laws will behave well, that the kids will be happy with their gifts and that Santa will bring nice presents to everyone.

I've been on the Google Santa tracker, so I know those of you in Japan will already have had a visit from Santa.
Wishing you all a good a good day and a good night :)

Have a Merry Christmas everyone!
I love that Christmas tree Leonore! Can't post any winter pictures as I am already with the family and left the computer at home.  ;)

I must say Leonore, I'm a bit jealous of your clean living room  :'(
Mine is just messy with piles of books everywhere.

Ah, see you're just seeing one corner of the room ;)

Truth be told, I hate clutter and I do try to keep it localized in only certain areas, which is why you'll never see pictures of the room I use as an office  :o

Aye, Merry Chris'mas.  Limr, yours prompted a memory ... Chris'mas tree on a roll of Kodak film, found in a Retinette, possibly early 1970s ...

Here's my attempt at making a decent tree photo... I've been trying to get one that looks good since the 1990's... and always ultimately failed.

I think this music video from a local band would go hand in hand with that picture...
Even if you don't get a single word in it, it still has that flare

Here's my contribution to the festive mood, shot some years ago when we had snow. Today it's plus eight centigrade outside and no hope of anything resembling winter. I shot this one with an Agfa Clack and Ilford Pan-F 50 ISO.
Merry Christmas to all filmwasters!

Here's my winter/snow contribution. This is from a few years ago. It's 75F here, and I'm loving it! Who needs a white Christmas when you have a grey Christmas? ;D

Definitely not complaining about the lack of snow!
We got a balmy 61°F this afternoon :)
A few degrees more and I would have dug out my bermudas and Griswold t-shirt  ;D

Merry Christmas, everyone!

And Happy Holidays to the heathens! I'm personally enjoying Ra's daily post-solstice blessings. Already gaining about a half-minute of direct sunlight a day, and it'll be double that by the weekend.

Leonore,

Bravisima. I read that there were seven hours involved in that picture.  I may have misread but, in any case, it is a timeless image.  I think that my family had the same Christmas tree in our home in 1958.  Thanks for bringing me back...

Thanks, gents :) And yes, Matt, that was indeed a 7-hour exposure with the ONDU pinhole.

Santa bought me an RH Designs Analyser Pro for the darkroom but I suspect I might have to wait at least a day to try it out ....

Two shots taken and developed yesterday (Xmas Eve) at Wallington, a National Trust property in Northumberland, with an Olympus 35RC and Fuji Pro 800Z developed in Fuji Hunt chemicals:

The christmas photo I was attempting was a failure, so I will instead quite happily wish you all a Merry Christmas, Happy Holiday and a good weekend.
