Dear Filmwasters,

In our usual seat-of-your-pants fashion, we are announcing the 2011 filmwasters calendar, but so far, all the pages are blank.

We need your pictures with which to fill it right up.

Here are the rules:

1. Each submission should include a maximum of 4 pictures - 1 for each season (winter, spring, summer, autumn (or fall if you are that way inclined)

2. Send to the filmwasters [at] gmail [dot] com address

3. Include your name and the relevant season in the file names (eg leontaylorsummer.jpg etc)

4. Forum Regulars only please.

We will then go through and pick the successful submissions ASAP and Heather has kindly volunteered to sort out the calendar using an online POD service with sales outlets in both the Old and the New world.

Please send in your submissions by Friday 12th November.

Fab idea. Have FWs done this sort of thing before (I am relatively newcomer - my first Christmas with you guys....). Any limitations on formats? Can I submit a few seasonal pano's or will my width exclude me like it does in most things?

We're on a tight deadline regarding the 2011 Calendar and really need to receive your submissions sharpish if Heather's going to have time to lay it out and get it sent off to Lulu. Thanks to those who have contributed so far, but we will need more material.

Don't worry about sending in high res files. Just get us some photos and we'll get back to you if we need higher quality files etc.

Go on....don't deprive Abndrea of her 2011 Filmwasters Calendar!

Hi suzi - you dont have to take the categories too literally - they are just so we get plenty of pics. Dont think of them as themes, just quarters of the year. It was purely to get more entries per person.

We also shouldn't need really really high resolution since I just double-checked the dimensions recommended... If we're doing the awesome group photos (more bang for your £/$, 4 per page which is why we need LOTS OF SUBMISSIONS!), 1687 x 1312 pixels is about the minimum size recommended, but you can send in larger images. Granted that's larger than what we usually post to the forums but it's not super-huge either, nor impossible to do for even negative scanning.

Also I feel silly entering any of my stuff if I'm the one doing the layout

Heather, you have to enter! Well, you dont HAVE to, but how could the calender be complete without any of your images?

I sent in smallish sized images for you all to decide on them first. Should I just send in the full sizes?

"Oomph" is obviously a pre-req! Images lacking it will be taken round the back and put out of their misery.

H, I was kind of counting on you supplying some Autumn goodness for the calendar...or anything else, but I've seen a lot of your work that would do very nicely for Autumn/Fall.

Can you let us know which images you chose?

Just that I've realised that one of the images I sent you was "non optimal"

and if I'm lucky enough to have that one chosen then I'll need to send you a better version!

Hi everyone. Thanks again for sending in material for the calendar. I've finally sent all of the selected images off to Heather and she'll be getting in touch via email if she needs any additional info or a higher quality image from you. I know it's a busy time of year for most of us, but Heather's timescales are super tight, so if you could get answers/images back to her as soon as possible after she contacts you, it would be very much appreciated.
