TriX 400 Veins after Development
« on: March 02, 2013, 02:32:04 AM »
Wondering if anyone has even seen this and can tell me a possible cause for this issue. I have had a few rol of TriX 400 (bulk loaded not manufactured) that have these strange veins in the sorocket section...see pic doesnt seem to matter what developer i use...thus one was done in ID11 1+1 for 10min at 20c. Fixed for 8 minutes with Tetenal powder fixer.

Looks like static discharge on it. Probably from loading or winding too quick.

Low humidity can also cause that. I have never seen that myself, but it can happen when the film is wound too fast either in the camera or loading it in the canisters. I do load bulk film myself.

It can also happen when you rewind the film in the camera.

Film is the vinyl record of photography.
