I can feel the excitement!
I have just gotten permission to announce a new postcard exchange! The rules are the same..only the dates will be changed:<)
We need to have everyone who is interested sign up by no later than August 1..that should give us all a chance to get our images sent for the forthcoming "Filmwasters " Book and decide if you want to participate in Postcard Exchange #6....
I will then create a list and send out the names and address by August 15 to all who sign up..these exchanges are great for collecting beautiful pieces of art from our fellow filmwasters...
Same format as before.
Please sign up by sending a pm to me with your name and address. This is an international exchange so please include your country and be prepared to send cards to all corners of the world.
Deadline for signing up is August 1.
Deadline for sending cards out will be September 30....
At the start of August, I will collect together all the names and addresses and pm the list to everyone. It is then your task to send everyone on the list a postcard. To give you a rough idea of the number of cards you will need to produce, there were 30+ people in the last exchange.
Cards can be printed in the darkroom on any paper, e.g. 6x4 or 5x7 inches. Then address and stamp the back to send.
Hybrid cards can be scanned negatives and printed with inkjet / pigment inks, on papers such as fine art, etc. Your choice -- just turn the back into a postcard and send off via snail mail.
Only one rule. The image must have originated from film.
No particular theme.
Some tips:
Some people send different images to everyone, most send the same image. Obviously if you've participated in the previous exchanges then don't send the same image as before!
Ilford Portfolio RC Postcard paper is still available, if a little pricey. It's thicker than normal RC paper and survives the rigours of the postal service slightly better than normal RC paper.
It's easier to write/print names and addresses on labels such as those made by Avery rather than writing on the back of the print itself.
It's often nice to include some details about the image on the back e.g. location, title, camera, film etc.
-
YAY!!! Im in.
-
Hi Diane.
Is there any restriction on getting the postcards printed professionally? There's a company called "Vista Print" who will print the cards and allow you to add custom text on the reverse side (i.e. allow you to make a "true" postcard. Ironically, it actually works out almost as cheap as having 30+ prints made on heavy photo paper.....
Paul.

Gives me an excuse to do more lith!

I hope you have loads of time on your hands! Doing approx 20 lith prints of the same subject would be quite a long haul ...............

One of the girls I did the workshop with was doing small postcard sized prints, they looked excellent. Maybe if I hire 20 oompa loompahs to help me?
-
Hi Paul, no restrictions..I think I have had at least three of my postcard exchanges done this way (locally) the only restriction (Leon, correct me if I am wrong) is that the basis for the image is film...the incredible work that comes form these exchanges is so worth the time and effort!
-
Erin..send me your address...I have lost it in the ethernet!
-
Cool, sounds like fun. I am trying to get my girl friend to register and sign up for this exchange. She has some great images taken with her Minolta AL-F. So if I'm successful I'll skip this round.
My other thought thought is for us to double team this round, each taking half the address. Any thoughts?
Roger

Im in
-
I'm going to leave this to Leon..I would think your girlfriend would need to actually sign up in any case...She should sign up anyway..where else can you have as much interesting, helpful, and humorous experiences as you can at "Filmwasters"?
-
damion..not sure I have your address.. so send it along just to be safe!
-
Sent!

Absolutely, I told her the first thing to do is register. Oh and btw - "No where else"
Roger
-
I'm in too. Real prints this time too.
-
Count me in! :)
-
Yes please!
PM sent.
-
I'm in.. sounds like fun. Can we see some cards from last year?
-
I'm in!
-
Chricel..I need your address again....
-
In.
-
Diane..just sent it to you :)
-
thank you everyone!..I think we have 16 people signed up so far! This exchange may turn out to be the biggest one yet! :)
-
I think it mught be a good idea to split us up into at least 2 groups seeing as the numbers are high. I dont relish the thought of printing 16+ postcards :)
-

ditto! mostly as I do not know of my future financial situation ;D

Normally I would prefer one big group, but my girl friend wants to participate, so two groups would be perfect. If this exchange stays as one group, no problem, I'll let Leigh take this round and I can do the next.
Roger
-
I anticipate the number of sign up's is going to be huge so when its time to close I will most likely split us into two groups...
-
I think it will likely need in excess of 2 groups if the number get that high - probably best to keep as near to 10 people maximum per group, otherwise the cost and time gets prohibitive.
-
Noted!
-
Hah! Just what I was thinking too, Leon.
BTW, I'm in. Not missed one yet. Not about to start now.
-
Yes please, count me in! :D
-
Totally in !
-
OK, I'm definitely in! I'm looking forward to this like WHOA :O haha!
-
in please :)
does it actually have to have a stamp on the card or can it go in an envelope?
which maybe isn't in the spirit of the exchange?
i was just thinking of doing tip polaroids if it's only 10 people we're sending to.
-
im in too !
-
Allan..I have your address but I need yours Vicky! and yours Nigel! Vicky...So far all the postcards were just sent with a stamp..not put into an envelope...
-
that's fine :)
and address sent!
-
My first postcard exchange ever... why not :)
You can count me in.
-
I'm in!
-
Just waiting till we sign a lease on a new place, which has a space in the garage for a darkroom btw. :) :) :) Soon as it's a done deal we'll sign up.

Roger
We'll it's official, Leigh and I signed a lease on a house in San Francisco yesterday. I'll pm my new address here shortly and Leigh should do the same in the next day or two.
Btw, the new place has a big garage and a nice spot for a darkroom, so I'm very excited. We have a one year lease but in all likely hood can live there much longer. Our friend who referred us lived in the house for 25 years.
Roger
-
yes me too again please....
-
I, too am excited. This is my first postcard exchange! It all started with a Minalta AF - range finder. I have so much fun with that camera that I take many many photographs but alas only a few are really worth looking at; film waster indeed! :D
Leigh
-
glad to have you aboard Leigh!
-
Im also in! Sent my address in!! Im excited!!!
-
Leon, nice to have you on board.
Roger
-
UPDATE.. so far 27 sign ups..so we have approx 2 weeks left to get in on the Postcard exchange#6! Don't miss out, sign up today!!
-
Hi. Diane, I would love to be part of this.
/Britt Aximon
-
Great! I added your address.....I think this takes us up to 28 so far folks..only a couple days left to sign up!!
-
Hi Diane
Left it a bit late, but please add me to the postcard exchange list. Sending a PM with my details now.
Thanks
Nick
-
Hi Diane,
I've been really busy lately, so haven't spent as much time on here as I would like. But, I'm a sucker for exchanges, so please add me as well.
Cheers
Mike
-
just so we are all on the same page..I will be posting to each of you a list of ten names..We had 30 people sign up so that made the split easy..I talked to Leon and we together decided the best way to do this was to split the exchange into 3 groups.. I know someone had an issue with this saying they didn't want the exchange split up for reasons I won't discuss here..Leon and I had the same response..If splitting wasn't to someone's liking they are more than welcome to drop out...so this would be the time to do that..
I literally cut my list into 30 small squares each with a name and then drew names out til I had my three lists..This was the easiest and fairest way I could see to do this..
All those who signed up please let me know if you do not receive a list by Tuesday afternoon(August 2)..( my work schedule dictates when I have the time to mail everyone..
-
Poised! ;)
-
Thanks Diane,
I'll be waiting.
-
OMG..Astrobeck!! I just went through everyhting I have and your name was not there but I will get you in..Will you please pm me your address...How did I lose you??
-
goodness gracious..your quiet little "in" totally escaped me..not to worry..all is good!
-
I have not receeived anything yet... ???
-
Patience is a virtue you know... just like waiting for the end of that 36 exposure roll (especially if you had the smart idea of putting it in a half frame camera) :)
-
Patience is a virtue for certain...got my list!
Thanks Diane!
-
Diane, take your time with the addresses, I have just moved and have absolutely no idea where my postcards are. I really thought I was on top of things printing my card way ahead of time. If I can't find them, I'll have to reprint using the photo paper that I probably can't find. Oh and what about the negative. At least I know where a camera is. Isn't moving fun!!!
Roger

At least you're almost done. I'm still packing my stuff and therefore have not time for the postcard exchange or the book :( Well, next year then ;)
-
Two emails per hour makes this all go a bit slower than I had remembered..even with multiple recipients it will take a me a few hours today..
The list you recieve should include your own name and address...any problems please let me know asap!!
-
The list you recieve should include your own name and address...any problems please let me know asap!!
My name wasn't on the list I received....
-
astrobeck..thinking your good to go now..??? :) :)
-
this limit of 2 emails per hour is really slowing me down..I have about 9 more members to notify...be patient...
-
only 7 more names..to go...but it keeps saying I exceeded my 2 personal messages per hour and I only sent one..I didn't send 2...I didn't ..I didn't.....!!
-
Only 4 more names to mail the list to.....so it will be prolly about 2 hours..cause even though I only send one email it keeps saying I have sent 2..go figure....
-
Diane
Is one of those mine?! I PM'd you my address a while back
Thanks
Karl
-
Karl..I sent your list through your gmail email account..anyone I could find with an email that wasn't just associated with filmwasters I sent that way since the restrictive amount I can send in an hour would have me doing this til 4 n the morning..if you didn't get it let me know and I will send it again..My email says it was sent but that doesn't mean you got it!! :) :)
-
FINALLY!!! everyone should have received their list by now..each list had 10 or 11 names depending which list you got..I had to add a couple cause we had a couple people sign up at the end..If you didn't recieve a list or received a list without your name on it please let me know right away! some of the lists were sent to your email that was listed in your profile because it was easier than waiting all day for the filmwasters message program to allow me to send more than 2 emails an hour..
-
Diane, you are a star. Thank you for all the time and effort you have put into sorting this out.
-
I already posted some of them. will do a few more at the local post exchange office as I was out of $1 stamps for flat rate international post card.
-
Got to get choosing! The hardest part :)
-
got my list :) but my store made a mess out of my ilford postcard paper order. :/
anyone got a good tip from where I can buy some relatively fast and cheap for shipping within europe?
-
tkmedia...wow..now thats coming out of the gate running! I am envious!
-
Talk about fast!
I still haven't even found where I'm going to get mine made (or if I'm going to go the handmade route)!!!
-
Thanks Diane, got mine a few days ago! Will be in the darkroom all tonight...choosing what to print!
-
Mine will all go out in the first week or so of September.. snowed under with stuff I'm afraid.. also don;t think I will have time to do handmade unless I can fit in a few darkroom sessions.. otherwise I'll use Moo who do lovely postcards..
-
otherwise I'll use Moo who do lovely postcards..
now there's a tip! thanks :) so you've used them before and got satisfied? I've been pondering on those stickers for the longest of time...
-
I always use Moo - easy to do and nice quality!
-

now there's a tip! thanks :) so you've used them before and got satisfied? I've been pondering on those stickers for the longest of time...
Yes, I started using them for business cards and stickers and they are really excellent. I've been wanting to get some postcards done so this is a perfect opportunity to try it out..
-
I've just ordered some nice prints on Fuji Crystal Archive... going the hand made route :)
-
All sent. They were all computer dye prints, as it was simpler for instant photos reproductions or using a service. Cost more to post than to print.
-
Hand made from me as well...I best get to it!
-
;D
Just got out of the darkroom, printef all mine on old Kodak Bromeskon Silk. Will post them on Monday, cant wait to to get mine :-)
-
well, ended up making 9 prints in the darkroom yesterday after all. wonder what I should do with them? ;)
hehee~ this is so exciting! I've only been able to figure out about half of my list, who they are ;D
-
Off to the Post Office tomorrow! Thanks all! Skj.
-
droped all my postcards into the postbox! enjoy
-
sweet! I just got my first postcard in the mail. many thanks, tkmedia. liking the perspective in the shot :)
-
Man, people are moving fast! I've not even chosen an image to get printed yet - I may be a while, but, I'll get there. I promise!
-
And I have ordered my postcards, but not received them yet.
Really looking forward to what people of my list will send :)
/B
-
Man, people are moving fast!
You betcha! Feels like they were planning this since Xmas or something!
I just got stamps. The pictures are printed. The backs too. Now comes the part where I play with glue :)
-
Phil..I am right there with you..and it's not like we haven't had a long time..I just can't make up my mind!!
-
I havent chosen a print yet either, or even how I am going to do them. Do most folks print them themselves or have somebody else print them? I was going to make them myself but Im not sure.
-
I've had places like Moo print them in the past, plus I've had them printed at one hour labs and then put 4x6 adhesive shipping labels on the back for addressing and a short description with the photo/camera/etc.
This time I'm having a one hour lab print them on Fuji Crystal archive paper, then I'm going to mount them on water color paper.
I have the prints made, I just need to get busy and mount them on the paper.
-
Stop the presses everyone on LIST #2... I neglected to add Nigel..so if everyone on that list could be patient for a bit Nigel will send me his address and I will get it right out to you..ASAP!! so sorry for the mix-up!!
-
I wonder if the little Kodak photo kiosks at Target print out postcards. I might try that. I am not sure their prints are archival, and in fact, doubt they are, but they are still really nice prints. We dont have any independent one hour photo labs around here any more. :-\ :'( >:(
-
I never thought I could output stuff that fast!
Yesterday, I printed the backs, wrote everything, dry-mounted the pictures, stamped everything.
This morning, went to the post office, put air mail stickers on, had the lady at the counter obliterate the stamps and off they go. Pickup will be at noon...
-
I believe everyone on list #2, with the exception of mikeg, (and I will get that one sent as soon as the system allows me to send another email)..should have Nigel's address....again, so sorry for the mix up ..I wouldn't intentionally leave anyone off the list! :-\
-
You are too fast Francois!
I just finished mounting mine, and will write and address them tomorrow.
maybe it's time to drag out the old Olivetti since my keystroke count is faster than my hand- :)printing...

Why didnt i think of that, that would look so cool. Stupid me printed the addressed and labels on my laser printer...i suck at this
-
With a bit of luck and a following wind, mine get printed end of this week / early next week, so aiming to post within next 7 days.
-
I just need to get some stamps and write on all of mine, then they'll be going out. should be able to post in a day or two :)
-
Why didnt i think of that, that would look so cool. Stupid me printed the addressed and labels on my laser printer...i suck at this
Not true!
You can't possibly suck at this. It's the spirit and excitement of getting a card that you personally made, a card that is uniquely yours that you are sharing with others. It will be admired and treasured and will make the receiver smile when they see it. It won't suck!
-
It won't suck!
That is unless you put the sheet of paper in the printer upside down and wonder why all your stickers are white ;)
-
What astrobeck said...no matter what it is something you made. And it will be wonderful!!
-
sent 6 out today, just finished gluing, cutting, writing and stamping the last 4 to go out tomorrow.
cant wait to see what the postie delivers . . .
-
I'm away, but was told I got a postcard from Australia..
-
The ausy one may be from me:-)
-
I was a bit stunned to receive my first postcard - from Skorj in Japan no less! Talk about speedy gonzales!
Beautiful image, thanks Skj :)
-
sent mine out today. hope they'll find their way well~
btw, is people writing their screennames on their postcards?
I did and I'd like to know who I get mine from.
full names keeps them so anonymous (ironically :D)
-
Got my 1st card today from tkmedia, cheers!!! ;D
-
I got my first today as well, from Skorj. Wonderful photo, thank you!
-
all postcards stamped and posted, cant wait to fill my collectionbook with yours...
-

-
I came home from hols to a card of my favourite Skj pic - thanks mate. and also a wonderful picture from Alan Lambe - thanks guys.
-
Thanks Leon, glad you like it - I got a lovely image from Skorj too.
What a great idea from Diane!
-
What's this? Postcards flooding through my door? Why?
After 2 weeks away from real life it took me an hour or so to realise that the latest FW postcard exchange was up and running. Hurrah! Quality images so far from Francois, Alan Lambe and El Skorjeriono; fair made my day.
Francois: you little camera icon took first prize (and I appreciated your comment about the bread). I know I should be looking at the picture side, but that icon is cool.
;D ;D
Now, I suppose I should think about getting mine printed. Don't wait in for the post just yet. It'll take a day or so.
-
Glad you liked the "stamp" :)
Like all postcards, they all have a unique little handwritten message for every recipient :)
Ever tried making bread with corn flour?
-
got my first one of this exchange in the postbox today, a very nice and smokey one from Becky... the postmen did not treat is very well but thats a part of the charm i guess.....
-
Got mine from Becky too. Love it!!! Gorgeous sunset.
Sent mine all out yesterday.
I am enjoying this a lot! ;D
-

-

-

-
Hi,
Put my cards in the mail last night (Wed 8/17) in San Francisco. Most of my list of card traders are abroad so hopefully they will get them next week.
Only card i have received so far from Skorj - i liked it!!!!!
~c
-
I am still, STILL developing my postcard negs. Crossing my fingers that they come out.
-
I've just received Alan's card!
Very nice boat... but you wouldn't catch me trying to float it!
Any kind of U boat made out of wood is a big no-no in my book :)
-
I have received cards from Francois and Alan , Skorj and Leon K...what a beautiful collective of art..Mine are at the printer and should be in hand by Monday and in the mail by Tuesday..if I write really quickley! :)
-
glad to hear the cards are reaching their destinations!

after she ended up with more than 10 to send - thanks becky lovely warm
image !
Francois - they were a very "weathered" group of boats all right - too long under water !
:)
-
Hi. Badly organised again. If I'm your group can you please send me the list of names and addresses. Can't find the email!
Sorry
-
Skorj - Finally got your postcard! The image is very nice, you can almost see the print getting wet in the rain.
The card got here is decent shape. Is it from a commercial inkjet printer (print on demand)?
The Postal Service from Hell managed to get the print stuck to a wet paper and the colors have run slightly creating some strange pink hues on the top... anyways, that's at least what I think happened.
Anyways, thanks for what is still a very nice image :)
-
I have 5 wonderful postcards now - thank you Otto, Astrobeck, TK Media, LeonY and Jojonas. Mine were posted to all corners of the globe yesterday lunchtime and, hopefully, should be with the intended recipients very soon.....Hope you like 'em.
-
Damion...just sent your list again...through your regular email address...let me know you got it!!
-
I got 2 more yesturday, one from otto one from jojonas. I especialy like jojonas one. So oldschool

Great cards arrived from Mojave and Piet!
The postman treated them kindly and I love the both!
So exciting to receive such nice photos.
-
Sorry to all those on my list. I'm away for another week yet, but, I will get to it on my return. You guys are moving fast!
-
leony: thanks! I quite liked the paper, subject and developer combo for that one :)
-
mine have gone out today to the jojonas, LeonY, Otto etc group. How long it takes depends on how far away you are - and most of you are a long way away! Thanks to all those recieved so far - a lovely thing to come home to.
-
Sent mine today too. :D
-
Mine going out tomorrow!
-
got your post card paul. The most gigantic card so far!
-
got your post card paul. The most gigantic card so far!
Sadly, I don't have a darkroom or even a digi-printer, so I have to get prints done commercially. The company I use produce postcards in 6"x4" or 6"x8" and the larger size costs only slightly more - so I thought...."what the hell....!"
-
I spent a couple of hours printing mine last night. they are still drying, but should be ready to post later today.
Leon
-
I missed the sign-up for this exchange (not sure how, I'm on here every day). I am however one of the lucky recipients of Astrobeck's extra postcards, and it is beautiful.
So, Thank you, Becky for the postcard.
I will try to catch the next one!
-
Mine are now in the hands of the Royal Mail - God bless her and all who sail in her.

-
Jojonas...would love to swap cards also....I of course have your address!
haha! bring it on :) I'm glad you do. just send me yours and we'll make it happen.
I'm moving on from what I originally made in the darkroom but I've def got more stuff that I was choosing between.
-
Popped mine in the post today. Thanks to Erin, Becky and Piet for setting the bar so high already!, love them.
Due to minimum order quantities I, like others, have got spares. I need to keep a couple back (in case any get lost in the system/kidnapped by a fine-art dealer etc.) :D so if you're interested and not on list 2 let me know your address. Initially I have 4 spares.
Harvey
-
Oh my goodness glory. I've been away for the last month and just picked up my mail from the post office - what a surprise (and reminder of what I need to do!). I've not yet begun so I will be a little late! This is fabulous!!
-

-
You're welcome, Leon. Got a wonderful card from you as well. Love it :) Thank you.

-
Just got Leon's card!
It survived the mail beautifully. And those clouds are just wow...
-
Just posted mine this afternoon.
Keep an eye out for them.
-
Wow! That was quick Francois! Glad you like it.
-
Mail always surprises me... sometimes it takes weeks to get to one place while other times it takes only days...
I think I got it so fast simply because our regular mailman took the afternoon off :)
-
Todays harvest: Harvey and Damion, again two more beauties in my filmwasterpostcardexchangecollectionbook...
-
Have received some beautiful postcards..I love this entire postcard thing..I love making and sending them out and such a joy to receive all these lovely works of art..my postman is so envious!!
All my postcards were mailed yesterday..
-
Just received a wonderful postcard from Britt! This is so much fun!
-
Yippee! this is better than Christmas...actually a lot better because I never get this many cards!
Received some beauties from Damion, Harvey, Britt, and Karl. Love them all!!!!
The bonus is all the cool stamps on the cards! I collect stamps too so this is like the jackpot!
-
Thanks Britt, Leon and Suzi - lovely cards!
-
Yes those stamps are the other lovely bonus..My daughter is so envious..she has been collecting postcards and stamps since she was 5...serious..I am sure she has every piece of mail-stamps /postcard/books she has ever received..no joke..
-
Thanks everyone for the lovely cards, Skorj, Leon, Britt, Alan, Francois and Suzi!
They're all sat on the shelf by the front door and get regularly admired.
:)
I have mine ready to write now so I'll try and get them out this week!
-
I've got 3 cards left if anyone else who wasn't on my list wants one - just pm me your address. Also Skorj, I accidently wrote out 2 cards to you (because I forgot I'd already written you one DUH)..

-
Got a magical 2 postcards in the mail today!
Our postman must be out of his mind!!! Carrying such weight is sure to break his back :)
Britt: Got your lovely postcard today. It looks like it traveled first class. Not a scratch on it and the stamp isn't even cancelled! Unbelievable.
I also got a card from somebody named Charlotte... whoever it might be.
-
Francoise, so pleased it made it all the way to you, and that you enjoyed it :D
Thank you all, I have got such lovely cards as well; Harvey, Charlotte, Jojonas, Leon, Alan, Francoise and Skorj, your pictures are great! Thank you!

And - mystery of mysteries ... who is Charlotte?

And - mystery of mysteries ... who is Charlotte?
Got yours...
As for the mystery person, I still don't know who this is. When you have to use Google to figure out who someone is, it doesn't come across as very friendly to me :-\
-
can I check that everyone who was expecting a card from me has received one?
And - mystery of mysteries ... who is Charlotte?
I haven't received yours yet Leon, but my postal service is notoriously bad..
Alan - I love the silvery sheen on yours
Francois - lovely, reminds me of the summer we never had in blighty this year heh
I got a lovely big truck from Diane!
Fab pinhole from holga mad Britt
Moody shot from Skorj
Lovely card from Charlotte
and thanks also to Beck and Harvey!
-
Yes, also recieved a lovely card from Charlotte..the mystery woman..all I had was a first name to put on the list!!
-
OK, I'm double checking my send out list and there are a few people I haven't heard from yet. If you got my card, please let me know.
Diane
Ailsa
Skorj
Charlotte

Francois..I am so sorry..I wrote a note to you in my brain but forgot to put it on paper (so to speak) I got your wonderful postcard about a week ago and Randy (my husband) and I both decided we would love to visit this spot..thank you so much...forgive me!!
-
No problem Diane... I must admit I'd have a hard time finding the spot again :)
All I know is that I started in Knowlton (Quebec) and ended up driving for hours without having the slightest idea of where I was going :)
-
I love those kind of drives!!
-
can I check that everyone who was expecting a card from me has received one?
yup lovely contrasty scene received Leon, thanks - - - again :)
-
Diane: I finally got your beautiful postcard!
It even came in a special "we care" USPS envelope!
The card got quite damaged in the sorting room and the postmaster even took time to tape it back together...
If something like that happened in Canada, I'm pretty sure I would have only received the bottom half!
I'm still quite happy with it :)
It'll go in the file with the envelope :)
Somehow, it tells a story too...
-
Francois...I will put another in the mail today..only I will put it in an envelope and write secret messages on it!! :) ;)
-

You don't have to do that... It's fine (and part of the risks with postcards) :)
terces egassem ;) that's funny :P
-
Mine are at least on their way to me! I should make the deadline.
-
Checking too, I sent mine couple of weeks ago, should have reached you by now, I think. Anyone in my group that whant me to resend, please let me know!
/Britt
-
Thanks all, I've got a great set of cards thank you. Including a quaint reminder of living in Japan:

'We are very sorry, but this item got wet, so we had to dry it for you. Best wishes Narita Post Office.'
-
now that's service!
-
Thanks to everyone as well - I love my postcards and I hope to soon be sending mine out. I'm normally quite prompt however I returned from a month away to a HUGE plumbing issue that has taken virtually all of my free time. Ah, the joys of owning an old home!
-
Old? Do you actually have old homes in the New World? ;)
-
Well, mine arrived today so now I can post them!
-
Leon this is a NOT an old home by UK/european standards. But 1940 is considered 'not new' here in the US. ;))
-
hi all! I just wanted to check up on this..
if anyone that's on my list haven't recieved a postcard yet, please let me know!
I'm guessing most should have reached their new homes by now.
I sent the ones to the list out on the 12th of august
and the last extras were sent out on the 26th.
if anyone is left without that should have gotten one from me, I'll send another by the end of this month. in an envelope this time ;)
-
Has anyone received any of mine ?
-
I have not received any from
Chricel Portela
Roger Thoms
Randy Babajtis
anyone have photo cards from the above?
-
Neither do I, tkmedia.
I can assume that you received mine. Good to know.
-
your assumption is correct. Retrieved yours from the bin in the beginning of the month iirc. It was sandwiched between some adverts. :D
-
Just been checking my lovely postcards. So far, I've received seven, from:
- Jojonas
- Otto K
- TKMedia

-
Becky, Diane, Leon Y, Tony, Karl C, Otto, Jonas, Johann, & Paul....Thank you for the amazing postcards!
I love the exchange.
I am currently printing mine to all of you & a few others. & they will be mailed before Sept. 30th.
All you're postcards are on my fridge :)
-
Chricel..I would love to see how your frig looks with all the postcards...wouldn't that make a great postcard??
-
Many thanks to everyone that's sent me a postcard. Life's been really hectic, so I'm running a bit late. However, the cards are printed and are waiting labelling and posting. I should be able to get them out by the end of the week.
Cheers
Mike
-
Diane, I'm just gonna have to do that now!!
lol
I went to the post this am. All of mine are sent :)
-
just wondering has any groups "finished" the exchange?
-
I don't know... I'm still missing three cards.
-
I'm missing three also Francois, and as we were in the same group ... I imagine they a will be the same three. C'mon guys - pull yer socks up, get your skates on, put the pedal to the metal, and so on and so forth.
-
Mine will be in the post tomorrow. I have no idea why I have sat on them for a week, but, it does seem in character!
They WILL be in the post tomorrow.
-
Okay, ALL of mine are in the post!
-
Did everyone on my list get one of my postcards? I think I'm also missing a few but in typical fashion I have lost the list and don;t know who ;D
I know I got cards from Skorj/Francois/Diane/Alan/Charlotte/Britt
I'm sure my postman has eaten the rest.
-
Yes, I got from you, Suzi! I also got from Skorj, Francois, Alan, Leon, Charlotte, Harvey and Diane. And extras from Becky and Jojonas.
Seems like it is from Ailsa, Ed and Vicky I'm still looking forwad to :D Anyone of you missing card from me, please let me know! Got a few spare left.
-
Same for me. If anyone is missing mine, just let me know and I'll send a new one over.
-

-
Thanks everyone for the wonderful cards!
I'm at last sending mine off today...at least it's still 2011 :)
-
+1 for a beautiful card from Chricel Portela.
-
Hello all, it's me HORRIFIED. I am sitting on my stack right now. I will face the lines this weekend at the Post Office and get them out! :)
-
Ann, I only just beat you. I sometimes wonder if I have a forward gear as I always seem in reverse!
-
Hello all, it's me HORRIFIED. I am sitting on my stack right now. I will face the lines this weekend at the Post Office and get them out! :)
You're in luck though: it's not income tax season ;)
-
I have not received any from
Chricel Portela
Roger Thoms
Randy Babajtis

Just located my long lost cards which I printed well before the addresses were sent out and before I moved. I'll get them addressed and in the mail this weekend. Sorry for the long delay.
Also thanks to everyone formthe great cards, some outstanding work!!!
Roger
-
Phil I love yours! Mine are on their way. Went straight to the post office after work. I'm now only semi-horrified. :)
-
I've now received wonderful cards from
Skorj/Francois/Diane/Alan/Charlotte/Britt/Vicky
I don't know who else was in my group as I lost the list.. anyway these all look great in my new postcard album - thanks!
-
Suzi - i definitely sent you one back in August! Cant believe they made it all the way to Canadia and "Merica but not 50 miles up the M2! Bloody Royal Mail.
-
You mean Royal mail hires the same people as Canada Post ;)

My local postal service is abysmal - bah. Probably in a pile somewhere with my missing amazon and lovefilm packages..

-
Vicky, I got from you today! Thank you so much. And... the wierd thing is. The person in the photo looks just like my son! It's identical! Even he asked how he could be in that photo! Scary and wonderful. Love it!!!
-
Thank you everyone! I've been a bit tardy about dropping in here, but I really do appreciate receiving them. All the shots are so great I really feel a little embarrassed about my effort (it's the thought that counts though - keep telling yourselves that!).
Apologies if this has been said already but it would be great if everyone posted a shot of their card so we could see how the ones we didn't get look - does that make sense? ??? (I think they're 'known unknowns') ???
-
Received two wonderful cards today!
One from Ann and one from Mike!
I love them both.
Must say that all of the cards are such a treat to look at and I think this was one of the best postcard exchanges yet!
Thanks to all! I am in total bliss being surrounded by such a talented group.
-
Ok folks, it's official, I finally got my post cards in the mail. I apologize for being so late and for the computer printed labels. As much as I enjoy getting the hand written cards I felt it was better to print labels as my hand writing sucks.
Roger
-
I've got a lovely card from Vicky, and some cards from people who weren't even in my group. Thanks All!
-

I'll think I'll do that :) many of my postcards were damaged but I still love them all~
-
Axia, so weird, it's actually a picture of my son from this summer :)
Glad you liked it Leon!
I'll post it here if that's what we're doing...?
-
Here's mine. Nikon F100 / Velvia / Tripod / Ashridge Estate near Berkhamstead on Herts / Bucks border.
-
And this is mine. My first pinhole cam.
-
Received my last postcard this week - what a treat to get such interesting photos all through the summer from fellow film nuts from all around the world. As a first timer, I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and would recommend to all.
I couldn't decide on one image to send, so had a selection printed by MOO. Still couldn't decide so ended up sending different cards to everyone on my list!
Thanks to all for the lovely cards. :)

Glad you like the card, and yes there is an town named Essex out in the California desert, conveniently located on old Route 66. Also here is are the coordinates to the location here I took the photo, the Google street view is interesting. 34.569630,-115.485484

I... :-X think I sent all my extras out :-[ hehe.. ;D
I'll keep looking but if anyone wants to post a scan of mine, you're more than welcome :-* :D
-
Well it's been almost two weeks since I sent my cards out and the on that I sent myself has yet to arrive. Now mind you the post office is 8 blocks away so maybe I'm asking a little too much.
My point is that the cards don't always make it which is why I print extras. So if anyone one my list has not received a card let me know and I'd be more than happy to resend.
Roger
-
Just received a card from Randy. Lovely view - I just wish my knees (and lungs) would allow me to climb to that altitude these days. Stunning photo.....

Its called Kodak Bromesko Silk. I got s mall pack of 10 ages ago in a big lots sale, then a few months back a deceased estate sold 6 boxes of 100each! I bought them all for like $30aud. Excelent paper, boxes were fully sealed, a little slow to develop but for 30+ yeard old paper ill take that
-
Hiya! Just wondering if everyone received their cards from me as it appears at least one didn't arrive.
I can send another, but different, one to anyone who is still waiting...
