Title: A Friday that must be good - for cheap beer and photos
Post by: Sandeha Lynch on April 14, 2017, 11:37:45 AM
You'll need your glasses for these, that's your red/cyan anaglyph glasses.  A while back someone gave me a Wray Graflex Stereo Graphic camera and I needed to check how good/bad it was.  I used a 24 roll of Fuji 200 that was probably very old and kept next to a radiator - ISO 50 slide film would have produced a better result, possibly.  Although you can make up the side-by-side images in PS I found a dedicated software (stereo.jpn.org) to do the job instantaneously.

Nice shots, Sandeha. Too bad I haven't got no 3d glasses.

Great shots Sandeha, luckily I had a pair of 3D specs to hand to fully appreciate them. Really worked well.
This reminds me I must dig out that Kodak Stereo Camera I've got and give it another go.

Tx, AJ.  With adjustable focus, speed and aperture you'll probably get a much better result with the Kodak, compared with this twinned double meniscus!

I might try using it at the annual naked bike ride this year ... but after that it goes in the drawer!

I really should get out my stereo pinhole holga...

I've been using the stereo photo maker from the site you listed for years now and it definitely is the best anaglyph program out there. I must have tried dozens and it beats them all hands down.

Sandeha. You'll be in trouble with Richard Coles (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-39587226) for a title like that. This (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JBq7uOQYZU) for anyone who doesn't know who Richard Coles is.

Here's a couple of test shots I took today when testing Acros in FD10.

I assume this is the weekend thread ... came back from a business trip last night and spend today playing with the scanner again. Here are some shots from my hometown in Germany, using an old Agfa rollfilm camera, similar to the clack, in plastic (got rid of it since). Film was Kodak Ektar 100, had to do quite a bit of tweaking in PS to get reasonable results. I guess the fixed exposure was difficult in flat light as I remember it. BTW, on my trip this week I took an Agfa Iso Rapid camera, loaded with Provia 100 (dated 2005) so should be interesting when I get the film back from the lab.

Was interested to see the shot on Dental X-Ray film. Ouch!! I suppose if you have access to film in that business. Hope the treatment wasn't too painful  :)

Thanks for the prompt Peter.  Given that this weekend comes the week after face-palm Sunday I have made an appropriate change to the thread title.

I really like the way the leaf seems to be inexplicably floating in that first shot, Peter. Reinhold, I didn't know you had a wormhole (or is it a time vortex, or some other portal to another dimension?) in your neighborhood. Love that old radio station, Bryan - fabulous architecture.

I appreciate the wormhole comparison very much. It was one of the moments when you knew you will get something nice at the instant when you pushed the button. 1 shot, 1 hit.

Too many faves this week. Trains and flowers and lighthouses!

This one in a foamcore pinhole camera. I got some old paper from a coworker and there was a bag of torn up scraps, so into the pinhole they go. 8 minute exposure. Parodinal 1:100 x 5 min.

 Kentmere 400
Shot with my Pentax k1000 that I purchase from the Goodwill auction for less than $20 and it came with the 50M 2.0. At the moment my favorite camera even more than my Leica M6. I also shot some Foma pan 320 which I totally screwed up since I wasn't sure where 320 ISO was on my Pentax.

On my way home I stopped by a coffee shop and park next to me was a car with this dog that would not stop barking, as soon as I took his picture he stopped.

Bosque del Apache wildlife refuge...wowsers.

These two are from a roll of Tri-X that I developed in Caffenol C-L.  The results were less pleasing this time.  The negatives were under-developed.  I tried halving the amount of chemicals because I made only 500ml of developer.  This probably is not a good idea.  I'll go back to making a full liter next time.  Too bad about the results.  I liked walking around New York, taking pictures.

This weekend was a very special one for me. For the first time that since I've been here in the United States (8 years), I was finally able to see a member of my family. My cousin, who is a doctor, moved to NYC so she came down to Philadelphia to visit me for the weekend. Last time I saw her I was packing my small rucksack before going to the Caracas airport and flying to the U.S

Shouldn't be a problem at all if you have a reliable scale and know exactly how much water is in your soda crystals. I always make 250 ml for one 35mm film and it's more than enough for consistant fine results.

It's a long weekend here so I'll sling in one more.  Shot with a meniscus lens on a Pentax KM with a roll of Fuji 200 that was not only old but had also been shot by someone else before me, though they seem to have stopped half way.  I think I might tighten the aperture on this a little more.

Reading this just made my day!!!
A K1000 was my first proper 35mm camera. I still have a shoot my original! 8)

OK, I'm a bit late, but I did develop this one on Sunday. One from the Ondu 6x12 Multiformat done on Arista EDU 400 and my first roll developed in xtol.

These two are from a roll of Tri-X that I developed in Caffenol C-L.  The results were less pleasing this time.  The negatives were under-developed.  I tried halving the amount of chemicals because I made only 500ml of developer.  This probably is not a good idea.
Shouldn't be a problem at all if you have a reliable scale and know exactly how much water is in your soda crystals. I always make 250 ml for one 35mm film and it's more than enough for consistant fine results.

Thanks for helping me eliminate one variable, Reinhold. I will bake and weigh the soda to see how much water there might be in.  We had some rainy weather last week so the soda, which was anhydrous from Photographers Formulary and had given excelent results previously, may have been saturated.  I also wonder about using Morton's salt as a restrainer.  It contains sugar and calcium silicate in addition to iodide.
