Developing: to invert or not to invert?
« on: February 27, 2009, 07:01:18 PM »
'sup?,

I've managed to crack my Paterson tank lid (the grey bit that isn't lightproof).

Can I twiddle the spiral instead of inverting the tank?

Or is inverting the only way?  (you can just shuffle the tank side to side I think?)

Thanks,

Chops

I always use the Tai-Chi agitation method... it works for me.
As for the crack, you could patch it up using either metallic aluminum tape, black electrician's tape or just black silicon caulk...

If you have a twiddle stick, then you can twiddle till  your heart's content. If you're twiddling constantly, you're going to need to adapt your development times. Or you can twiddle once or twice per minute or 30 secs and dev as normal. Don't forget to rap for to remove those pesky airbells though.

I never found the lids on the Paterson tanks to be terribly leak-proof, so I've always twizzled without incident.

I always heard that twiddling causes streaks.

I twiddle every Sunday and I'm ok.
