nice pictorialism/f64 photog exhibition in phoenix

i don't know if i'm the only person in the region, but if anyone gets to the area, check out the f64 show at the phoenix art museum.

very nice selection of pictorialist shots and from the f64 group. the pictorialists are of particular interest to me, of course, as i like the soft look, but all of the photos on display were very nice (was an interesting shot of a very young ansel adams). they come from the University of Arizona collection, which i guess is the largest in the country. something like 3.8 million photos in the archive.

they had on display some of the older correspondence from the f64 photographers about the history of the group, and none of them were exactly sure! they were mostly like, hmmm, i think this person went to this persons house, but i don't remember for sure, etc.

anyway, for those that can get there!
