Francoise, Kodak Gold 200 is my favorite expired film, it holds it's colors really well. I like the umbrella shot, it really shows off the colors.

This is the oldest film I have ever shot, it's Kodak NC (Non Curling) 120 film that expired in November, 1939. Photographed with a 1925 Kodak No. 2 Brownie model F box camera. 30 second exposure at f/22, developed in Rodinal 1:50. The first few images of the roll was so messed up you could barely make them out, they improved a lot from there. maybe the tape reacted with the film. Knowing the tape would be dried out I opened the roll and replaced it before loading it into the camera. I had to do a bit of manipulation in Gimp to adjust and clean these images.

That is truly amazing

80 year old film that you can still get an image (pretty nice ones, too!) out of. Meanwhile, one can't recover d*****l photos from 20 years ago because the storage format is not supported

Kai: the unicorn was part of an art exhibit downtown. It's actually life size, or should I say horse size.

Bryan: Gold is definitely impressive even when old. I did overexpose it by a bunch in order to get the best out of it. And those umbrellas are definitely helping (but boy were they hard to fit in the frame!)

This was more mid-week, a few weeks ago when it was really hot but the day before the hottest day I decided I wanted to get out and do something but didn't want to do a load of walking in the heat and thought somewhere with transportation and shade might work. Ilford HP5+ through red filter in Leica IIIf.

Really love Kevin Allen's pinholes this week!

Nothing special in terms of subject matter from me, but some Provia 100 pushed to 400. I forgot to set the film speed on my camera before taking the pictures and then had it developed to correct for my error. I am really surprised how well Provia handles the 2 stop push. Contrast is quite good. Maybe a little less saturation than at box speed.

I finally shot some film. Yesterday I went out with a friend who also shoots on film and decided to test the Nikon N90s I bought, and the 135mm 2.8 AIS as well.

I shot two rolls and lost half of it due to chemical exhaustion. Did a leader test afterward and confirmed the chemicals were shot. Oh well.

That's why you do the leader test first

But seriously, that's how I got into the habit of always doing a leader test, even on freshly mixed C41! Losing full rolls to bad chems sucks

Well, I dumped the C41 chems and mixed the E-6 ones, so, E6 xpro now

Been a while. Haven't been shooting at all really. Ever since my wife got hurt then got a new job that gives her weekends off a lot of my alone shooting time has been occupied and she doesn't really like going downtown and following people around taking pictures of strangers with a camera.

Francois, great quality images right off the bat. Digging those colors! and Kevin's pinholes look great too. Pretty impressive framing and composition for something that's pretty much a guestimate.

Would love to post some stuff eventually. Should get some fresh chemistry and get back into it. My only problem is the monitor on my windows machine just doesn't look the same as anything else so grading images is quite difficult and proofing them on another machine just sucks the fun out of it.

Yeah, unless you use a calibration device, screens do look quite different, especially when switching from pc to mac.
On Windows 10, if you go to color management, select the advanced tab, you will find a button to manually calibrate the display. It should be pretty close to what you'd get with a spyder or color munki.

actually used a spyder on this monitor and it still doesn't give me an accurate result. I've just gotta save up for a bigger and better monitor.

I currently have a now old Samsung P2070. Not the best but good enough for me. As long as it's in the ballpark, I'm happy.
Often they have things like "movie mode" and "extended range" modes that screw-up calibration big time. I just turn all extra features off.
On mine it says it's got 50000:1 dynamic contrast. I discovered that this is simply marketing bulls***.
