I do love Tumblr. I started it for a class I was taking because I was already familiar with Blogspot, etc. Mine's spaghettitree.tumblr.com, mostly photo posts, some audio recordings, and the rare text post. Link also in my sig below.

@Diane Peterson - Just had a look at your excellent tumblr blog and wanted to comment on your 'Rabbit' photo. Fantastic! And an example of how a single word of text (in this case the title) can transform a picture. I paused a second or two longer than I normally do to look at the picture, admired the framing and lighting of the bottle, was about to move on until I noticed the title, then saw a completely new image. Funny and slightly sinister at the same time - very Donnie Darko! I love a photo with a little surprise tucked away, waiting to reveal itself.

A mate of mine gave me his wife's ticket (she was poorly) and we went to see him and his new band (Sensational Space Shifters) at the HMV Forum in Kentish Town. Lianne La Havas was special guest. Great voice but one for the "dunno" pile....

Couldn't get my camera in there - actually I didn't even try. We'd been warned by text there was going to be VERY tight security - e.g. full bag search / body frisk for everyone. Also, admission only with original ticket AND the card with which it was bought. They really set to kill off the touts (good thing). Lots of people turned away, disappointed but the gig was 100% sold out.

Hi Guys.

I set up a Tumblr a short while ago and it's okay. However, I see I have the occasional "note" registering on some of my posts. When I look at the post, it will say that I posted it and that (insert name here) "liked" - but no "note" as far as I can see.

Most recently, there's one with 3 "likes" but it says 2 "notes". I'm confuzzled. Anyone know how I access these notes, please?

LD...I also like tumblr but for sure it does have some weird "quirks"..and impossible to get anyone to respond to issues..I have had the same message at the top of my dashboard for over a year to "click on some link and they will resend me an email"...never clicked on the link and everything seems just fine..so, sorry but I don't know what you would do to resolve your issue..

I don;t think there is, as that is one of the main features of the site..

i may depend on the template you use.

some of the better templates should allow you to switch off
and on certain functions . . . but that said it may be a "tumblr"
default function . . .

So it seems. Thanks all for help. It may seem odd, but I can't bear people just taking my images and sticking them on their silly pages full of weird stuff. No offence meant to any photog folk - but as far as I caught up with them my pictures were reblogged only on those pages where people "reblog" anything that catches their eye for more than half-a-second before they move to another set of pixels and forget the previous one...

Anyway, I couldn't find any option to disable that "unique feature".. I looked at several of other tumblr things mentioned here - found that the template that Leon uses does not have the "reblog" button, so I shamelessly used the same template until I find something different.

Ive stopped using tumblr for new photography stuff just mainly other interests that i have, stuff i donf care if gets reblogged. I keep photography stuff for my website where i have control of usage. I think the whole point of tumblr is the reblogging feature?

Yes, I feel that is a way for me to go... Somehow I developed a dislike towards these sites - after a couple of days enthusiasm I dropped off Google+, today almost deleted my tumblr... Sometimes I even have "doubts" about flickr - still have a couple of filmwasting and paperwasting friends there though...

Thanks Suzi... I've tried to explore the theme I "stole" from Leon, found it a bit limiting (or I am completely dumb - which might be quite the thing), I am thinking about my own domain and looking at wordpress now, seems to be going quite strong among photogs nowadays...

(But alas, that only raises more and more questions.. Domain name, theme, gallery-style or blog-style.... ) But since I'm getting quite off topic now, I'm switching off for tonight..
