Share the Love 2015
« on: October 20, 2015, 07:23:27 PM »
It's about that time, anyone want to start this up?

For all those who are new here (as in haven't played the game before), this has been a staple of the site on an irregular basis. And there are rules needed to make it work well.
I put up for adoption a piece of photographic gear. It can be anything that will fit through the mail. The first one who wants it claims the item but must put up for adoption another item. Think of it as a gear exchange train.

Eg.: Frank puts a camera which is adopted by Mark who puts an exposure meter which is claimed by Amy who puts a grain focuser which is adopted by.....

So, try and not put up some "Local Pickup Only" items.

If an item sticks for a few days because nobody wants it, you can switch it for something else. Just try and keep the exchange going for as long as possible.

Shipping is negotiated privately between the parties. Items are not sold in any way, it's just a trade.

Id have a complete NIB Kodak Instamatic 110 outfit. Even includes the original 1976 110 cartridge and box!

Id toss in a fresh roll of Lomo 110 of the taker's choice. BW, Color Neg, or E6.

Pics to come tonight

Hey hey hey, what's this? Nobody wants to have this lovely camera for FREE?  :o  This is the slowest 'Share the love' I've ever seen! If I didn't already have one of these I would have jumped at the chance. C'mon, what are you waiting for?  :)

OK, lets drum things up!

How many times has anyone listened to the film photography podcast to hear that this year was the year of 110 film?
Well yes it is!
Lomo has a bunch of films readily available in both color and B&W. And you can't get better than this. This is not a cheap micro camera, it's a Kodak!
And we all know how tough Kodaks can be. This is what we can call a lifetime camera right here.
And if anyone has ever wanted to venture into the world of subminiature formats, this is definitely the easiest way in.
And you get it all in a brand spanking new minty original case. Just the box is probably worth more than the camera on eBay!
So, get it while you can...

This one's gone mysteriously quiet.

Just wondering if it in order to post other stuff as I've been having a bit of a clearout / change of kit and have a few goodies for anyone who can make use of them......?

OK, it's been what... 5 days since the start of this.
I think we can consider the first item to be a non starter so we'll just keep it on the back burner.
If someone has something new to offer, it's time to get it out.

Okay, then....

For any L-39 Leica-philes, I have three Leitz push-on 36mm diameter filters in Green, Yellow and Orange (all in boxes / keepers and in super condition) plus a metal 39mm body cap and a non-original lens hood for an L-39 50mm / 5cm lens.

I would rather not split them and as they only occupy a small space, I'll pay the postage.  Just happy if someone can genuinely get the benefit from these.

Let me know if you're interested.

So nobody wants the Polaroid Spectra?  I'll offer up a Polaroid 250 Land Camera and pay shipping, even over seas.  The camera works, I recently shot a pack of film with it, it's a bit rough cosmetically.  It's also missing the plastic cover but it does come with the leather strap.  I'll throw in a fresh battery as well.  The Polaroid Spectra is still available so you have a choice between the two.

Jeez Bryan, you're spoiling us! I'd better not take this one, I'll just convert it into something totally different like I've done with the others I have.  ::)
For those who are not familiar with these cameras, this model is a seriously good one with the fabulous Zeiss viewfinder. All you need is some of that beautiful Fuji FP-100c............

Okay, in return for accepting Bryan's Polaroid 250, I am offering a Sekonic Digi Lite F (L-328). This really is a great little meter. I used this as my primary hand-held for a long time and exposures were always right on. It is very small, indeed pocket-size and comes with its own pocket that features a belt loop and an even smaller pocket inside! The inside pocket holds the flat face diffuser and the spot meter attachment. The last pic shows it next to my Sekonic L-508 Zoom Master for size comparison (note that they are both showing the same exposure reading). Honestly, if I didn't use the spot meter on the Zoom Master, I would be offering it and keeping the Digi Lite.

Who wants it?

Well James, I actually NEED a meter so I'd love to have it.  My last one died at 35,000 feet  - I mean, it was working before the flight but for unknown reasons (a couple of hours in the hold, perhaps) it never worked on dry land again.

Minolta "A" 35mm camera up for grabs, (http://camerapedia.wikia.com/wiki/Minolta_A.  To my thinking it's a cute bit of history in terms of rangefinder design, with a Rokkor 45/3.5 in an Optiper MX shutter.

Good cosmetics, very quiet shutter that is good at all speeds, working self timer, pretty fair lens (marks on rear element), pc flash connection works fine.  The rangefinder patch is clear and works accurately, though the vertical alignment is off.  Comes with lens cap and free shipping.

I discovered that it has an interesting 'pad of death' in that if you keep your thumb too firmly on one side of the base it upsets the film counter. The counter now works and film spacing seems fine, though I only used the camera once.

So ... No one wants the Debonair then? Fine, I'll keep it! I'll offer up a Kodak Brownie Hawkeye restored by Randy "Holgamods" Smith with flash and 7 620 spools to go with it. It has a tripod mount and you can even use a cable release with it! It's a lovely camera, but I just can't be bothered to respool the film.

Right'o, gotta save James from his vices! I'll take the Hawkeye (Urban, if you get a shock at the post office I can help out with the shipping cost). Just PM me and we'll settle it.
In exchange I am offering up a near mint FED 5B which I purchased as NOS from Russia. I have run one film through it and everything works perfect. My problem with this camera is that I'm wearing glasses and the diopter adjustment stops at -3.0 and the viewfinder is quite small. If you haven't used one of these before just remember never to adjust the shutter speed unless the shutter is cocked.
It comes in its original box with russian user manual and a nice leather case. I have separated the top of the case from the bottom part, but it can be easily fixed by punching in a new press button. And it comes with free international shipping.
Kai

I would love a 127 camera, but with auto film wind counting, as cutting down 120 to 127 and getting the numbering on the backing right is nigh on impossible.

That's why you need a special numbering jig...
I'm thinking OK a plank of the proper width and a holder with light baffles to prevent side exposure. The plank would have a series of holes drilled in it so that you can go with a sharpie and write the numbers down on the paper...

Ok, no time to lose. I'm offering up........... The Last Camera! This is a DIY 35mm camera carefully assembled by the undersigned. 100% real plastic throughout. It comes with 2 lenses, 22mm and 45mm. Just do not try to change lens with a film in the camera, because you have to take it slightly apart to change lenses. Everything is clearly explained in the manual that follows this camera. It has only one shutter speed + B and fixed aperture. I recommend 400 ISO in normal daylight.
International shipping included.

So no one wants the 127 Brownie?   :'( :'( :'(

OK, in it's place I'll offer one of the following three choices:

4 rolls of  36 exp AGFA Precisa 100, 135 and 3 rolls of 24 exp Fujicolor C200 135 (Expired 2010)

OR

7 rolls of 120 Orwo Chrom UT18  Colour reversal film  expired 1985

OR

This little puppy - a 35mm Focus Free 35mm camera made out of shiny silver plastic. And I'll throw in 2 rolls of Agfa Precisa 100 as well.

I'm also willing to do a swapsy with any of the above for a plastic 120 camera (not a holga though as I have plenty of those).

I still want to find the Brownie 127 a decent home though.   :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

The Debonair has just arrived in a lovely box - thank you Urban!  It's the dog's bollocks.

So come on does no one want a 35mm Focus Free Camera?  It's even got a red line around the lens... or a 127 Kodak Brownie.... or some film?
