The infamous dinosaur!

Thanks Sean for your thoughts, this thread has been far more useful to me than I ever could have expected.

Like I've said earlier, I'm so green I'm looking to be very much steered in the right direction. The good thing here I suppose is the experienced boys here are pointing me in the right direction.......then giving me a shove in the back and setting me off down the hill!

An intriguing thread and I wanted to post something intelligent but all I can think about is the fact that I remember quite clearly what I was doing in 1974....

It's at times like this that I always suggest a visit to the MOBA: Museum Of Bad Art. http://www.museumofbadart.org/

This is really a nice service to society. You look at it, you laugh, you screech, you think about your own work, you gain perspective.

I love that site and need to remember to go to the actual museum the next time I'm in Boston. I often use the pictures in my writing classes to get discussions going.

What I find funny is that I actually like some of the stuff they have on display... am I allowed to say this without any critique?   :-\

I found some of their things to be not necessarily "bad" but somewhat non-traditional, and I thought it wasn't really fair to include those in a museum of bad art. But that first portrait? "Lucy in the sky with flowers"? Ooof. The best comment that any of my students ever made was, "Why is there a dude's head on that old lady's body?"

That MOBA link was terrific-tears of joy...
It reminded me of this:

There's more to this photography thing than meets the eye.
