I think i got a decent deal, M2 with Summicron both CLA'd last month for $1000.
Was yours modified with the trident take-up spool?
If not, I think it would be worth investigating if your Leica servicemen can put one in. It makes loading so much easier!

As for the registration distances, take a look at this and you'll understand

I believe thats the M2-R that has the faster loading. I was looking at quickload spools last night. The kits range from 75-120$ for pretty much a standard spool that isnt guaranteed to fit. Im not too bent out of shape with loading. Its almost the same as loading my IIIa and i can load pretty quick if the film has been cut previously.

I know the feeling.  My own M2 is currently half way through a bar of Trix.

Film loading?  It's faster than a Hasselblad.   8)

While the most I have spent on a film camera (well, for the last 20 years at least) is under $200, the $1,000 tintin spent is pretty economical. He could be shooting with that thing for decades with the occasional CLA (and then sell it for more than he paid for it). Fortunately I have the 35mm camera of my dreams - the much more modest ON2n - but I will at some point drop some reasonable cash for a Pentax 67, so maybe I am just using his purchase to rationalize my future ones haha.

For an adventure that involves technology, film photography - even if you are getting a camera of your dreams - is pretty economical. Or so I will explain to my wife when I buy a Pentax 67 ;)

Ah! You have a poor quality, Chinese rip off of an OM2n. You'll never get any decent images with that.  Send it to me and I'll dispose of it for you.
