I glued/hacked and taped so many parts together..I think it would have been much better had I used film other than 400 speed..this has way to much grain..or could that be from the "lens"...I don't like this much grain..

Love your homemade lens Diane! Is this the same lens used for the Denim Jacket shot you posted on your blog?

Here is mine. Shot last week using my Pentax and my homemade loupe lens and Kodak Ektar film. This house is one of my favorite places to visit, though it pretty much stays the same each time I go there, aside from the melting adobe that is. I think its the only real adobe house I've seen out here.

Vicky, I just cant imagine you panicking about doing portraits. You are so good at portraits!!! I love all the shots you have, especially the last, square image. Wow!!! What a stunner. I dont understand what you mean about preferring it straight or how that affected your images.

and i mean developed straight forwardly, not cross processed......it's just personal preference, that's all.

You'll have to let us know how you get on.

Just relax (if you can) and enjoy yourself, as others have said you portraits are great.

Don't forget what Tim Andrews said about your portraits of him

"Isn't this the most stunning photograph? I think it is. Stunning, stunning, stunning."

Vicky, love the colors from your second post, did you edit them in PS? They look fantastic specially the sky!

One from my side with POlaroid 195 and unpredictable, but not this time, 3000b film. Which I will statrt shooting at 6400ISO. I did not know much when to use this film but now I found that is great for street photography at night (yeah, what a discovery  ::)! This guitar-hero I photographed was almos at dark pitch! It´s amazing how hard workers the Philippinos can be. I do not want to know for how many hours he must stand on the street with all those guitars hanging around  :(

Diane and Erin... these DIY lens are fantastic ! The house is beautiful...
Vicky - I love the tones in both portraits and in my opinion it matches with the subject.
Dynamo's fuji and Calbisu pola are also great!!...

I have a couple of shots taken with my Voigtlander Avus using Wephota film in Crystal Palace Park, looooads of cleaning using photoshop trying to get rid of the spots left on the neg due to a strange development...

Dynamo, Im really digging your bleached Fujis!

Carlos, wonderful! The exposure is great!

Sapata, I really love the look of that film! Its got great contrast without losing all the detail in the shadows and highlights.

Great pics everyone. Hope the shoot goes well Vicky. Here's one taken over a really scarey drop down to the sea. I took it in landscape mode, but flipped the picture around and suddenly saw a Marvel hero figure crashed into the rocks. Can you see it?

Someone in my office had the honour of setting the theme for the monthly company photo club competition.  They're always quite amused by my not-so-technically-perfect analogue approach to photography so I'd said I'd enter this time but I left it a bit late (10pm the night before the closing date) and sadly all my attempts to match the "Household Object Mystery Macro" theme using a pinhole camera were a dismal failure (I was hoping that the extreme pinhole perspective might offer someting but no luck and no time to re-shoot).

Still, at least it actually got me doing some film photography for a couple of hours at least and it did yield this somewhat disturbing self portrait from the frames I'd wasted messing around at the end to use the film up!

ohyeah.. all shots here home developed. the 120 looks great but I dunno about the solaris/ferannia film - didn't expect much though :D

this is from an old Polaroid 80..made a "thing" so I could use 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 film...trying to get the film in the right spot..taking a few times to get it right...... not too bad results...sorry for all the "truck" shots..it's either shoot trucks or trees..

Are you using without the mask ? They look like scrathes when you remove the mask and don't put a protection where the film runs...

Took the Ilford Sporti out in the morning, developed the Shanghai GP3 when I got home then printed this snap in the afternoon onto RC of some sort. Yes it's soft. It's meant to be :-)

Great weekend!

Becky, love that first one of yours, great comp.
Andrea. Ominous church, may be not a place to get lost during the night.

Couple more with POlaroid 195 and FP100c, bleached ones. The shots were deliverately underdeveloped, but they all came out highly Reddish, which still I do not understand why.. Ok, almost everything was red but still.. Is there a relation with that and underdeveloping? May be there is.

Anyway! This was and probably will be the most magnificent/decadent birthday party I will ever attend. It was prepared for a one year old girl. In a 5 star ballroom hotel. It was literally moving an amusement park inside the hotel. Whatever you can imagine was there. Incredible  ::) Philippines is really a place of contrasts.

I read somewhere that the colours transfer from the negative to the paper at diferent times (maybe first the reds, than the other colours, i don't know?). So this might have something to do with it.

What a weekend...........

I hit my 50th birthday yesterday. My present to myself was Matt Taylor's (ChopperT') M6TTL and Summicron 50mm f2.0. I know he was sad to see it go but I promised to take very good care of it.

As my wife and I were in Bradford seeing the Fay Godwin "Land Revisited" exhibition, we arranged to meet up with Graham (Wensleydale Blue) who was checking out the film festival. After a cuppa and a chat, we all headed off into the back streets of Bradford looking for likely subjects to shoot on a bit of impromptu film wasting.

The shots I took are on Ilford XP2 400 and were processed by Jessops.

It was really fantastic to meet up with both Matt and Graham.

Today, we've been to Fountains Abbey near Ripon. I've got a roll of Tri-X and a roll of Portra 400 VC to have processed and hope they came out okay, too.

Anyway, there are some stunners on the thread already. Difficult to pick favourites but Lino's Beetle and Vicky's portraits are just lovely......
