Oooooooh, a 4 speed Mowog gearbox that runs in the sump with the engine oil, and with an 850 !

Amazing feat of engineering.   ;D

Used to work on them in the mid 80's ...  :-[

Top colours BTW.

roman - i dig your color palette!

lately i feel like i've been shooting alot, but either haven't developed or scanned... the hazards of family life i guess.

here's two from my archive that i was working on this week:
first is a portrait from my studio class, second shows how sometimes i think i see a photo, but man does it turn out lame.

Another set of inspiring images.
Sapata
I really like the shapes and tones, and the low key feel which makes an ordinary sterile corridor into a relaxing view.

roman
Those colours are the lovely warm colours of Autumn, you have caught the feeling well, I especially like the first shot.

fwank
That portrait is just my cup of tea, made all the more impressive by the use of Adox/Efke 25 which can be a harsh emulsion if not correctly treated.

Heather
You set is very atmospheric, you're right about the light leak adds to the ghostly atmosphere–I'm almost expecting ectoplasm :)

Suzi
Those colours are lovely, the vignetting on the second really draws the eye into the centre tulips

Sapata - Lovely lines!
Miles - Love both but Im really diggin the way that house stands out in the landscape.
Miller - Love that color!
Roman -  Great color and shallow DoF. Pulls me right into the frame.
Fwank - Great portrait and I happen to like the beach shot. Its a little blown out on the left but cant that be toned down in PS a bit?
Heather - Great cemetery images. I especially love the light leak shot. Very biblical.
Suzi - Great work! Love the angel and the flowers but especially love the red and white flowers. Wow!

Here are some older shots from me. I havent been shooting much film lately because of school so I've decided to pull from my archives. These shots are from a few months ago, taken of various abandoned places around town.

possibly, i'll try to look at it again tonight.  sadly, in going back through my archive of scans, i noticed that my scans aren't meeting my quality demands.  i think i adjusted the levels too much on the scanner, i end up losing my highlight details on a lot of rolls.  sigh, sometimes it's just easier in the darkroom.

i find a strange appeal with it as well, i haven't uploaded it to my gallery yet, so i haven't finished my thoughts about it.

That portrait is just my cup of tea, made all the more impressive by the use of Adox/Efke 25 which can be a harsh emulsion if not correctly treated.
i meant to mention that the highlights in this neg are really dense, but it scans just fine.  i dev'd in r09 1:100.  for portraits this is exactly how i like to shoot.

thanks for the comments!

i also enjoyed the holga photos!

I just keeps getting better, week by week.....

- Heather's "thin negs" look stunning
- Phil B, beautiful tones - I must get some of that 160VC
- Carl's portraits are just amazing

I've been out shooting this week. I took a roll of Portra 800 along the "South Bank" of the Thames on Wednesday. A few interesting places and a good excuse to use my F1-N and FL 58mm/f1.2. All scanned via Epson V750 and relatively light tweaks in Lightroom2.

Miller, you are one lucky soul; you've no idea of the dreariness of a country without Minis.  (And 'Binis' don't count...)

Here are a couple I shot last weekend with the Pentacon Six.  Thanks to Diane as always for the camera.

Really cool stuff and as usual the standard is high …!

Heather - the light leak it‘s just perfect… love the gravestones.

Miller - Amazing…I want a Mini so bad !

Suzi- the colours are fantastic…!

Phil - The colour contrast on the horizon between the sky and the water is just wonderful, something you’ll find in one of those colour guides book … just perfect !

Carl - such beautiful portraits … the second one is my favourite for sure .

Yep, the ole Mini does get some attention out there and I've had my fair share of practical classics in my time. Being over 6ft does cause a surprise when I climb out and is great for short shifting round Londonium. The Cars the Star... Mojave, that last shot is timed to perfection... Straight up... I've stared at it for minutes...    Pentax Espio 120sw

It's excellent to see so many great photos here and we're only halfway through the weekend (in the UK at least). I may have something to contribute this time round (assuming I find time tomorrow to get the scanner fired up). Leon popped up to Wenn Mansions today from deepest Kent and we conducted some LF tomfoolery in my kitchen. The Ilford Harmon positive paper experiment proved entirely unsuccessful, but we soldiered on despite failing light and finally got some decent portraits using a pack of Fujifilm FP100 4x5.

Yes folks, Leon used instant film today....and was like a little kid waiting for the seconds to tick down until it was time to peel apart.

 :D ;)

A mix of shooting from the hip and actually looking and focusing through the viewfinder with the Mamiya6.  The Mamiya is pretty good at street shooting though it's kinda big, but the lens is unobtrusive and the shutter is super quiet.  Zone focusing is a bit of a challenge unless the aperture is like f22; I tried doing it with f8 and f16 but now I've learned.  And the detail in the neg is something I could really learn to love.

Here are two shots from yesterday's session with Leon. Joe's looks a bit Demonic because he blinked his way through the 1/2 sec exposure. I think both snaps were taken with my Tachihara 5x4. Both shot on Fujifilm FP10045 or whatever it's called.

Just one final look before I hit the sack....

Amazing photos folks! Hookstrapped, I love the Mamiya 6 shots - especially the graffiti one where it looks like one girl is about to throw the brown stuff all over her friend...

Aoluain's shot of the fuel pumps is beautiful and something to which I aspire as I shall soon have an SX-70. I doubt any of the IP film will produce such results but I am an optimist and hope they can eventually produce something predictable, stable and colourful.

Windy's shots of Deanne are beautiful  ;)

Urban's colour choice is inspired - purple is definitely my "thing" as I found out when I started taking photos of bluebells, I can't wait for end of next April to set the Hassy free on those babies....

Miller's, Suzi's and Heather's shots are just fabulous - as ever.

Great work all - top marks from me this week go to Suzi for her Tulips, Pryan for the holga/velvia shots and Phil B for his excellent take on the now very cliche kenna-esque peaceful water scene …nice touch with the colour, turns it from what would be "one of those long exposure black and white shots" to a whole new level of originality.

Mmmhh, fantastic weekend, from my side have not been able to finish one 36exp roll in two weeks time!  :D The job and settling down its taking its toll  ;D

I specially like:

Heather somber Gravestones,
Mojave houses, every each of them with their own personality,
Carl Portraits always distinctive,
And Hookstrapped street photography, the one with the policeman just love it. I am sure he may even have shot you if he would have notice you! : )
