One Subject - One Roll, Dedham Vale - Constable Country
« on: January 24, 2015, 07:29:58 PM »
This is "Constable Country" (East Bergholt) where the English romanticist and landscape artist (1776 - 1837) lived and where many of his paintings are based. This is an easy 20 minute drive from our home in Essex and right on the border with Suffolk. For anyone unfamiliar, here's the Wiki:

I'd recently traded some gear for some other gear and one of the newly-acquired pieces is a Fuji GW690 III which some refer to as a "Texas Leica".  It's about the the simplest camera imaginable - 6"x9" rangefinder, no meter and with a fixed focal length 90mm f3.5 lens.  You get 8 shots on a roll of 120.  I mis-fired the first, didn't like one of the other shots and these are the other six.  Film is Kodak TMax 400 Pro processed in D76 and then a bit of a tweak in Lightroom 4 - just a very minor crop, levels and sharpen.

Excellent shots, well done on getting 6 from a potential 8

Not been that far sarf in years, but I do find the countryside has a certain different charm to what we have up north.

Well, as a northerner, myself, I couldn't agree more.  It's not a part of the world I've grown to love in the 15 years I've spent working in London and commuting from Essex but it's at least green, open spaces.  I do miss my native Stockport and the Lakes, Peaks and Dales.

Beautiful shots! I love the first two - so atmospheric.
