OT: Shortages in the stores?
« on: August 19, 2022, 09:24:51 PM »
I'm really want to ask you something: is there a shortage of stuff in the stores where you live?
Mom went to the grocery store this morning and the empty shelves were really unavoidable.
Same thing at the drugstore.

Bread
canned soup
bottled water
oranges
cup-o-noodles
pasta in some types.
rice
soup stock
cookies
margarine
butter
cough syrup
Tylenol
kid's medicines (even the hospitals can't be supplied with kid's Tylenol)
nasal drops
bed sheets (only one set for single beds in a whole Walmart)

And I know I'm forgetting things.
People can be seen running in and running out when they see that they can't find what they need. Then hop back in their cars and go on at the next place.
There was a line-up before opening time at Walmart with people looking to buy some bread and other food.

I'm really starting to wonder if it's the same everywhere or if it's just in my province as this subject makes the newspaper headlines on a near daily basis.
