Tree at the Devils Marbles - Diana F+

W

ell, today is the first day of the last month of the calendar year. It’s been a busy year here at theplasticlens, with one exhibition, developing B&W film for the first time in donkey’s years and let’s not forget the arrival of the new blackbird, fly camera from Superheadz/Powershovel in Japan.
In other exciting happenings I took the family to the Northern Territory and we drove from Central Australia to Darwin at the top end, taking many photos as we went. Curvy Spiky Against Blue - SX-70 PolaroidAlso, one of my Polaroids will be used as cover art for a published book (more details when it is actually published).
But we still have 30 more days for the year I hear you say - what else can we expect? Well, the mad holiday season of course BUT! also - new blackbird, fly colours are to be released for all you bbf fans out there. That’s right! Apparently there will be a release of white and red versions of the bbf. You may remember that on the initial release of the blackbird, fly in Tokyo there were a limited number of alternative colours to the black, orange and blue versions released. These were yellow, brown and white. It looks like Superheadz are looking to expand the regular colour range, including the previously rare white, but adding red as well. This is all good news because it must mean that the interest in (and purchases of) the bbf is high enough to warrant a new production batch with new choices. I’m very happy about this because the Powershovel/Superheadz people deserve success with this refreshingly new approach to the toy camera field (and they’re really nice people too, which makes the success and ongoing developments with the camera even sweeter)
I will keep you posted with news as soon as more information comes to hand.

boy, i have say this economic downturn sure has turned washington into ol' moscow, it's socialism for everyone now. congrats and happy holidays, you own 8 percent of citigroup. you'll soon get a piece of the big three, you got you some AIG (does that mean i can set the lineup for ManU?) this bailout thing is the gift that just keeps on giving. look, i know, we need to dive in and help the financial backbone, spine and ass cheeks--but please, let's remember who got us there. what went down the past 8 years to put us there, remember that when the 'new' GOP in a couple years tries to put all of this on Obama, note to you--remember he wasn't president yet. and by the way, is it too much for the media to ask where and the fuck is dubya in fixing some of this? oh, too busy trying to make sure he and his clique aren't tried for war crimes, i reckon. yeah, i'm celebrating obama's run, his win, but his plate is full, my friends, (ahem) and let's keep our eye on what got us here. portrait of an anarchist as a shadow. fter a hectic and busy time juggling work and various end-of-year things (my children’s school fete, end-of-year concerts, catch-ups and other socially oriented activities) I realised I had neglected the old blog. Here is something I have been meaning to put together and upload for a while; a short visit to my house to look at my camera collection for your amusement…
(apologies for the crap quality of the video, once I eventually upgrade my computer to one with better graphic/video processing I am hoping the quality of these things might improve)
