Where to buy film in Santa Barbara?
« on: March 24, 2015, 05:17:26 PM »
So I'm out here on the left coast babysitting my sister's kids while she's in Japan. And although I brought 3 cameras (XA, Yashica Lynx, Holga WPC), I am woefully underprepared film-wise. I'm blaming it on the fact that I'm coming from "it's still winter, damned if I'm gonna shoot today" NYC to "holy carp look at all the pretty flowers!!!" SoCal.

So to the point, where do I buy some cheap color 35mm (and dare I dream, 120?) film? Even Kodak Gold would do (sorry Leonore ;) )...

Hey, look at that! :) Now can I be even more demanding? Anywhere in Goleta? (I keep forgetting that Goleta != Santa Barbara and that a car is required to get from one to the other)

This answer's probably not much help (and possibly quite detrimental to your wallet) , but if you can get some wheels and some time you could drive an hour and a half to Freestyle Photographic  Supplies in LA.

Oh yeah, Freestyle is in LA! I can go load up on all my hardware & chemical needs and not pay their exorbitant shipping charges! Though I'd have to pay tax I guess.

I think I'm going to SB proper on Thursday,  so I'll see if I can hit Samys :)

I think freestyle is your best bet, their shipping is pretty fast too if you're in Santa Barbara I'm in San Diego and if I order it early in the morning I usually get it the next day. I think S/h is $6.95 by FedEx.
You must be enjoying the weather right now we're having awesome weather.
