World Wide Pinhole Photography Day - Sunday April 27th 2014
« on: April 22, 2014, 05:51:40 PM »
This coming Sunday, April 27th is World Wide Pinhole Photography Day, so I thought I'd start this thread where we could, for those of us who plan on shooting some pinhole shots, share what we're going to be doing and then post some photos from the day.

I'll be leading a pinhole photography meetup for the Charlotte Photography Group. We'll be shooting everything from homemade to store-bought pinhole cameras on 35mm, 120, sheet film and instant. This is the second WWPD meetup I'll have done and I expect we'll have just as much fun as last year. Hoping for good weather this year!

How about you?

I'm leading a walkabout and then we're going for tacos at Los Compadres on Route 66 8).

Come join us if you happen to be in town!

Becky, I hope to be there at 1 PM, most likely with a pinHolga and lightweight tripod, but perhaps with a wooden 4x5 and sheet film holders, if I feel adventuresome.

Going to be out of town, and since I'm flying and already have too much gear to pack, I'm going to have to sit this one out. It does give me an idea to try something I hadn't considered before, though. I suppose you could say I'm just deferring my participation....
Any man who can see what he wants to get on film will usually find some way to get it;
and a man who thinks his equipment is going to see for him is not going to get much of anything.

Last year I didn't have a pinhole camera, but this year I have two! Woot! Nothing official planned - I'm going to lunch with my sisters and we always end up in a Starbucks, so there might be some opportunities for some long indoor shots of caffeine junkies :)

Not sure which ones come along on a trip into the woods this weekend. The ONDU certainly, maybe the 4x5, or the 6x17 or the 6x24. Decisions, decisions.

I couldn't get to making a pinhole photo yesterday until the evening—no chance for an outdoor shot.  Instead, I taped a Pinhole Resource aperture sheet to a lens board and put it onto a Graphic View camera with a 2x3 roll film back and bracketed four exposures—6, 12, 24 and 36 minutes—onto Tri-X that I developed in Rodinal.  The film back dark slide was my shutter.  The subject, a flood lamp.

Next year, I must leave more time for inspiration.

Nice images! Here the weather was quite ok so I took the pinhole for a little walk in the country side. Harman Titan with roll film back, red filter, Ilford Delta 100; stand developed in Rodinal.

Met up with JoeV  http://joevancleave.blogspot.com/ at the Rio Grande zoo and made an afternoon of it.
Breezy, hit and miss Sun, good conversations and great tacos afterwards!

Matchbox pinhole with some expired color.

Still have another roll to process from the matchbox and one roll from a hacked pinhole Holga...

Well, I made a lot of mistakes with the Clash-hole's debut shot. I mangled the film quite a bit and placed it off center while loading it. I also shook the camera when exposing the film.

I also shot with the Squidhole, that came out much better, save for the big chunk of gaffers tape stuck to the film. I thought I had it just on the edge. Ha!

Had a great time this Sunday with Astrobeck and her hubby at the Rio Grande Zoo in Albuquerque, followed by great food and conversation. I shot eight 4x5 paper negatives, and a roll of Kodak Ektar 120 that still needs to go to the lab. Here's several paper negative images.

OK I finally scanned some stuff from Pinhole day. I was happy with the results.

So happy I have stuff posted here and different stuff posted in the weekly thread!

Shot with the pinhole Diane made for me, on my M645 with some really old TriX320 (shot at 160). I used the iOS app "Pinhole assist" using its reciprocity feature and the negs were as spot on as normally shot film. A great little app.

These look wonderful! Glad I could be of help. My pinholes are now going out all over the world. Just sent some to New South Wales, Paris, Croatia and Italy. I obviously love making them.

I finally got my film back from the lab, Kodak Ektar 100 exposed in a Holga 120 pinhole camera at the Rio Grande Zoo in Albuquerque. Here are a few of these images I really like.

I shot three rolls and had technical issues with two. Managed to salvage one frame from a TX roll where the 6x24 camera had a hiccup, and two frames from a roll of PanF+ from the ONDU, where the film seemed to have developed a case of the measles.
