Vivitar Instant Slide Printer
« on: March 27, 2012, 09:34:22 PM »
Having gotten into Instant Photography last summer, and spending way way too much on old polaroid film, IMP stuff and Fuji 100 and 3000 my latest toy is a Vivitar Instant Slide Printer.
Using FP100c needs a 2 x  ND gel in place and then the exposure turned way down but I love the results...

Anyone else have one of these?

Hi Andrew

I've moved your post to the main forum - hope you don't mind.

We seem to have a glut of interest on these type of things recently.  Here are a couple of links:

I have 2 of these. They are sitting in storage since the disappearance of 669 and I haven't done that many transfers with Fuji FP-100c.

Here is a set on Flickr

Not Vivitar but I have two Daylab slide printers, both take 35mm slides but one prints on to pack film (669) and the other on to 10x8 colour print paper. I bought the latter cheap for a specific project which didn't materialise.

DMS - Great set of PT's BTW

I've wanted a daylab printer for years.  But never been able to find one in the UK.  It's a shame the Vivitar printers can't take 120 film otherwise I'd get one of those.

Does anyone know of a slide printer that would let me just slide in a strip of film as opposed to a mounted slide? I would love to print my slides on Polaroids, but I get them back sleeved instead of mounted.

Byron, I agree that this would be very useful indeed. Mine certainly doesn't do it, but I wish it would.

I believe that the Daylabs had negative carriers that you could use. And if they don't, because of the way they are almost like an enlarger, I'm sure you could make a crrier of some sort.

And if not, just buy a few cardboard mounts and put the film in them (even of only temporarily).

I used the standard slide holder to hold the negs with the DayLab but it was hit and miss if it was aligned as the preview was cr4p... This neg was shot a few moon ago... Rgds Mlr
