OT: Suffering for your photography
« on: April 19, 2010, 10:24:30 PM »
And it's all your fault! ;)

Today was probably one of the first times I truly suffered for my photography...
I even bled for my photography!

I was shooting something for the next collaboration (that's why it's all your fault ;) )and came up with what I now think was a hare-brain idea.
I ended up knocking myself head first on a sharp-ish and mostly hard-ish well anchored aluminum frame at considerable speed.

OK, it probably is less painful than a blackeye... but it still hurts.

So, I'm wondering if something stupid like that ever happened to you?

Here are the "gory" details shot lovingly by mom while waiting for me to get patched-up.

The rest of the story will have to wait until the collaboration time is over... or before if the picture turns out to be a total failure.

Ohhh Francois!!!  I hope you're alright!

I'm racking my brain (uhhh, no pun intended...) trying to think of how I've suffered for my photography.   Frozen fingers, frozen toes, bruised knees... but never ever have a drawn blood.  You win.  ;-p

Ouch!      :(

Other than occasionally pinching my self with the tripod, I can think no mishaps.    :)

I have taken my Kiev 60 and other heavy cameras up mountains and on long hikes -resulting in near cardiac arrests....touch wood, my ticker has (just about) kept going.

I thought about taking my LF up Cadair Idris the other day to get a shot of Llyn Cau, im so glad I didnt...I ended up taking a Ricoh GR1 and there was one point where I thought I might not make it back.

This morning, I'm feeling better... though my ego is somewhat dented and my head somewhat bumpy :)

I think I won't comb my hair today... it's still sensitive...

there was one point where I thought I might not make it back.
Happy to see you're like in the old Timex watches "Takes a beating and keeps on ticking"

Well... I just got my roll back...
And to my surprise, the shot that caused me to smack myself will be used for the collaboration...
