Mart "The Mighty Leichter"s postcard arrived from (I'm guessing) Florida at the end of last week. I haven't been to NYC for just over 5 years and I really miss it, so this hit the spot. Thanks, mister  Cheesy

Then yesterday I was treated to some Caddy action (1954 style), by Steven. I'm deep into "Mad Men" and while I know this model pre-dates that show, it still made a connection in my head. Thanks.

I'll be getting mine printed tonight and will inevitably mail them out way too late, but you will all get them. I pwomise.

OK, mine are printing as we speak. Decided to do hybrid film/inkjet cards this time. I had an image that I liked that was shot on slide film, plus I was inspired by the color postcards I have already received.  I should have the cards in the mail in the next day or two.

So far I have received 6 cards, all very nice.  Thanks Becky, Martin, Rob, Steven, Vicky, and Piet.

OK,  it's official my cards posted today. Hope everyone likes my card, it might be kind of boring compared to some of the toy camera shots I have received. Maybe I'll have to find a Toy camera to shoot with.

I'm in the mood to make some comments about my fellow "wasters" cards, but I'd basically like to have the lot. I trust more are on the way especially from those across the pond in the island kingdom.  Slow post, I guess.

Living in such a remote small area..the postmaster  sees and comments on the postcards I receive...i suspect everyone is the wee town of Winchester knows about the fun we have with this venture!  Thats what happens when you live in a place like this...They definitely have the right to be  jealous!

This weeks bounty continues to thrill me with the wonderful art filling our mailbox.

Becky's shot of the Hope store is just plain fun. Nice shot

Diane's "District 41" speaks to my love of relics. I especially enjoy the smiley face.

Roger: Yikes, man. You hit my spot for old trailers. I 0wned a vintage Airstream for years and this reminds me of those days. This is a spectacular image. I encourage you to find a toy camera and see the world anew.

As usual, I'm loving them all.

Damion, I don't recall a Cuban-themed card, but even if you did send one in the past, I'm certainly open to more -- be it the country or the sandwich.

Mine have been posted!

and thanks Rolo...but my mass of disorganisation means that I didnt send a cuban themed one, as its been "filed" away, by the wife,  in a yet to be disclosed location.    ho hum......

Also  - Would our friends in the USA be branded "Reds" if they were to receive such a card?   I'd hate to responsible for the  COINTELPRO people showing up at anyones house......   needless to say I met a few Americans in havana.....seems the travel ban is working well.....

I'm just curious how Filmwasters "treat" their exchanged postcards, in a book ? on the wall ? framed ? on a pile ? behind a magnet on the fridge ? mine are in small photobooks, one on every page and nice to look at.

Our postcards are displayed on the piano---gives them a nice background and a natural focus as you walk into the room.

Thanks again to everyone; have enjoyed these greatly!  --Sheila

Now that virtually all of the postcards have been exchanged, I just wanted to make a few comments.

Thanks to all of you who passed along your flattering and complimentary remarks about my contribution to the lot. In addition to making some new internet friends, it was great reconnecting with some old ones from another time and another cyberspace.

I want to say that is simply amazing how much photo talent is out there. The varied way each of you sees things as well as the plethora of subject matter and equipment boggles this aged mind.

Can't wait for the next round.

Happy, happy to all!

Friends:

This post card exchange was a lot of fun. I've enjoyed each and every card and am amazed at the breadth of talent and creativity shown.

I was lucky enough a few years ago, to find a large lot of  frames with double panes of glass allowing images to be viewed from both sides.
I've framed the post cards and have them around the house mixed in with our eclectic art collection. It's fun to stop and look at your images and bask in the warm glow of such an amazing group of artists.

I look forward to doing this again at some point.

With warm regards,

Steven

Team, I've let this slip very, very badly and haven't yet posted my cards. I had them printed in early December and have been carrying them around with me ever since. I have addressed half of them, but am just not getting my act together on the rest. Will endeavour to shape up and get this done this week.

Apologies.

Hey, been a long time since our tc days.

It has indeed...although I'm still a newcomer to the TC scene compared to yourself...I seem to remember that you were the person who suggested toycamera.com as the domain name when the original Great Lakes guys moved over to let in the new management.

Anyway, you're right to be cynical about my efforts to get the postcards out of the door & across the Atlantic, but I will do my best.  Smiley

Great memory, Ed, re my connection to the tc domain name.

The "promises, promises" was just a leg pull as you Brits say, or at least so says Hitch.

No worries, Mike. Sorry the cards have been so late in coming from me. All the UK ones have been sent. The ones for the rest of the world have been printed, written on, addressed & even had Air Mail stickers stuck on...I just haven't made it to the Post Office yet to buy the required stamps.

Well, you are numerous steps ahead of me. I still haven't even decided which pic I'm going to print, let alone gone to the darkroom, put the neg in the enlarger, mixed up the chemistry, done a test strip etc etc...  Embarrassed

In my defence, it's been a helluva hectic few months. I'm still pretty busy but have decided that, no matter what, I'm going into the darkroom for a couple of hours next week to do my bit for the postcard exchange.
