... looks kinda cool.

$60 US

http://tinyurl.com/nw4tzp

Not as expensive as the BBF. 35mm, square + half-frame.

I'm thinkin' this little thing might make its way into my collection.

i have a vague urge to buy one, but i know i'd never use it more than twice (like my holga 135bc and most every other toy 35mm camera i have). i'd rather get something nicer. and that mini font is ass-ugly.

I'll be giving this one a pass I think. Buying new toycameras just feels wrong. Sure I bought a few Holgas a few years back, but since then it's been 2nd hand gear only...anyway, like many here I have too many cameras these days so a 35mm 'Diana' isn't enough of a draw for me. Also, I agree w/ Sean, something about 35mm doesn't really say "toy camera" to me, like 120 or 127 do.

Somehow reminds me of the miniature Leica replicas Minox used to make... minus the quality

So the new Lomo mystery camera has appeared. I guess it makes sense that they're building a product line off their faux Diana.

I'll pass. The Olympus Pen E is way more 'cute.'

Hey Russ, how come you're a Guest all of a sudden? Anything wrong w/ your account? Let me know if you need some help.

Also, despite my generally 'not interested' tone re this little toycam, I really would love to see how you get on with it and would love to hear what you think of it after you've shot a roll or two.

I guess enthusiasm (or the lack thereof) probably (for some unknown reason) p***** Russ off...

Even if I'm not that enthusiastic about the product, I still would want to be wowed.
When it comes to discovering new cameras, I always like to be surprised (especially when it goes against my original opinion).

The move to the Mini Diana, at least to me, sounds like highly predictable and logical from the part of Lomography. When the users have to struggle to get their roll of 120 processed (especially color), they tend to shoot less. 35mm is so ubiquitous that the move to the format makes sense to me.

As I've said a hundred times before....when the Lomo people develop a Holga or Diana where you can advance to the next frame like a 35mm camera....I am the least interested in anything else they are offering. I mean it would be IDEAL to have an advance mechanism where you don't have to peel your eyes while looking to see what and where the number is and the like. Especially when shooting at night, indoors and so on. Right?! Hell, I think this is something Randy can do also. I'm going to bed...

In the lesser chattering classes they do make a correlation between a man and the size of his car, is this the same with the size of his camera?

...35mm is so ubiquitous that the move to the format makes sense to me.

This of course is the point of it all. We're so immersed here in film & related esoterica (non-perjorative use of that made-up word there, pop pickers  Wink Cheesy) that we - meaning "I" - almost always miss the mainstream perspective. Francois is bang on the money. If I made Dianas, then moving to 35mm would be an obvious thing to do to increase sales.
